Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L)

At Loxton High School, we are committed to fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for every student. Guided by our School Culture Matrix, Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) is the cornerstone of our school culture, embedding the values of trust, commitment, respect, optimism, and support across our community.

PB4L at Loxton High School is more than a framework—it is a shared philosophy and daily practice that shapes our interactions and decisions. As a whole-school approach, PB4L ensures that our expectations are explicitly taught, intentionally reinforced, and consistently upheld. Our School Culture Matrix, rooted in our core values, provides clear guidance on how we work and learn together and helps every student to make positive and responsible choices.

We believe that building a positive culture is a collective responsibility. Every staff member plays an active role in modelling and supporting behaviours that reflect our values, helping to create an environment where all students feel trusted, respected, supported, and optimistic about their future.

Through positive reinforcement and meaningful feedback, we celebrate and encourage actions that align with our values. By shifting our focus from reacting to mistakes to proactively teaching and recognising positive actions, we empower students to develop important social and emotional skills. Where errors occur, our responses are consistent, supportive, and focused on learning, ensuring every student can grow in a safe environment.

Our culture is founded on mutual respect, unwavering commitment, genuine support, optimism for the future, and trust in one another. Together, we create a predictable and supportive school environment where all students can thrive—academically, socially, and personally.
